Description

This Grilled Cheese with Apple and Bacon combines the classic comfort of a grilled cheese sandwich with an elevated twist. The sharpness of cheddar, the tart crispness of Granny Smith apples, and the smoky crunch of bacon create a gourmet experience. Perfect for a quick lunch, a hearty snack, or a cozy autumn dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 slices sourdough bread
  • 8 slices sharp cheddar cheese
  • 8 slices crispy bacon
  • 1 Granny Smith apple, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Spread softened butter on one side of each slice of bread.
  3. On the unbuttered side of 4 slices, spread Dijon mustard. Layer with 2 slices of cheddar cheese, 2 slices of bacon, and apple slices.
  4. Top with another slice of bread, buttered side out.
  5. Place the sandwiches in the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes per side or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  6. Remove from the skillet, slice in half, and serve hot.
